The Allan Labor Government is progressing the rebuild of St Leonards Pier, with a tender now open to appoint a lead construction contractor to deliver the project.
This marks an important milestone in delivering a safe, accessible and modern pier that the community can enjoy for generations to come.
The new St Leonards Pier will include wheelchair-accessible fishing platforms, curved seating overlooking the bay, and a low landing to provide safer access for boaters, divers and snorkellers.
The revitalised pier will continue to support the many recreational activities enjoyed at St Leonards, while protecting its heritage values and the surrounding marine environment.
A lead construction partner is expected to be appointed in mid-2026.
Victoria’s local ports contribute more than $900 million annually to local and regional economies through tourism, marine activities and associated industries.
