Labor will open a new Early Learning Victoria centre and Kinder on School Site in the Bellarine.
Minister Blandthorn and Alison Marchant MP announced today that a new kinder will open at Bellarine Secondary College (Ocean Grove) in 2027, and an Early Learning Victoria (ELV) centre will open in St Leonards in 2028.
The kinder at Bellarine Secondary College (Ocean Grove) will have two rooms, with up to 118 places.
The government owned and operated ELV centre in St Leonards will deliver Free Kinder, as well as long day care, and will have community spaces and maternal and child health services.
Labor has delivered three Kinders on School Sites across Greater Geelong, helping families avoid the dreaded double drop-off.
An investment of $18.3 million has delivered Oberon Kinder, Marshalltown Road Kinder and Biyala Kinder – soon to be joined by Bellarine Secondary College Kinder.
These three projects have already created 231 new places for local families.
Labor’s nation-leading Free Kinder program gives families back up to $2,700 per child, per year.
We’re investing billions to build and expand kindergartens statewide.
Labor is building 50 government-owned and operated Early Learning Victoria centres across Victoria, in the areas that need it most.
We have also delivered more than 100 new or expanded kinders on school sites, helping busy families save time and avoid the dreaded double drop-off.
